Vom 21. bis 23. Februar 2013 veranstaltet das Institut für Musikpädagogik
das erste Symposium in Deutschland, das sich mit dem Thema Community Music auseinandersetzt. Das internationale Symposium soll die erste offizielle Diskussionsplattform in Deutschland sein, auf der international renommierte Musikpädagogen Aspekte der Community Music und die Zugriffmöglichkeiten im Rahmen der Musiklehrerausbildung beleuchten. Neben zahlreichen Vorträgen werden unter anderem auch Workshops angeboten, in denen Fallbeispiele von Community Music praktisch untersucht werden. Das Symposium wird sich mit den Fragen beschäftigten, wie Ansätze der Community Music in den Musikunterricht überführt werden können, inwieweit die Musiklehrerausbildung an das Konzept angeglichen werden muss und worin die Grenzen und Möglichkeiten einer Kollaboration zwischen gegenwärtiger Musiklehrerausbildung und dem Konzept Community Music liegen.
