Master Class: PALATIUM. Court Residences as Places of Exchange in Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe, 1400-1700

Participation in the Master Class is free of charge: accepted participants get an allowance to fund their travel to Munich and are also offered free accommodation in Munich for a whole week (7 nights). The lectures and excursions are also free. The number of available places is limited: 18 students will be selected on the basis of their research project and motivation. Applications are invited by 8 December 2014. The Master Class is organized in conjunction with the final Symposium of the PALATIUM programme, which will be held in Munich on 4-7 March 2015.
The Master Class will be devoted to the general subject of PALATIUM and is open to young researchers (typically PhD students), from all nationalities, in the fields of history, architectural history, art history, heritage studies, or related disciplines.

  • Tuesday 3 March: Lectures and excursion to Munich Stadtresidenz
  • Wednesday 4 March: Symposium, day 1
  • Thursday 5 Marc: Symposium, day 2

  • Saturday 7 March: Excursions to Landshut (Stadtresidenz & Burg Trausnitz) and Neuburg an der Donau (Schloss Neuburg)
  • Sunday 8 March: Departure
